On a trip to the cavernous coast I'm a friend and I belong Taking trains and airplanes to the ones I love And though our hearts are chasing apart it's all we know Don't stop me now I don't want to go Why don't you go on ahead of me? I've got to feel my feet on the wet and honest ground I've got to feel like I can change the world and I could bring it down Tonight I feel like falling asleep in the open air just among the trees under this starry night And though our hearts been chasing apart it's all we know Don't stop me now I don't want to go I've still my life ahead of me I'll chase my fears through these coming years so I'm gone and out again to return a better friend -- we'll see each other again until the heart is gone until the love is gone until the mind is gone until the body is gone

On the sea from my home I did leave For the air out here For little's left back there But I was washed up on the reef I'd tried to take on all the sea Long for home for mountain streams that run for freedom I had there You can't find anywhere When they took our land away they took all life away There was a flash and a strange sound I had a visitor she spoke of what would come the taking back of everything we were to set the world free and great forests would grow once again through the rubble oh and one more thing, she brought me a heavensend a heavensend Heavensent, o heavensent for all to see from the sky to me all that I say shall come true and this gift we shall put to use in a storm we cut through their lines under full moon we ride tonight they can't imagine the what's been set free the earth shall sink into the sea these among the wonders I see in your eye and in glory we fight to live again

turn upside down clouds on the ground falling from your crown turn upside down turn inside out turn outside in back to how it began with your feet on the ground turn the hands on the clock to your favorite spot turn the wheels of time change is in your mind turn your back to the sky don't fall for the lie the ideal chair's not up there and you're not missing a hair turn the words around listen to the sound the sign isn't the place a picture isn't a face

once upon a time I made a new friend she was the kind who could laugh and smile at all the stupid things I said and smile she did as I went on to say what a good time I had when I walked with her and talked with her such a good friend we spent a summer week on a mountainside picking the fruits of the earth for the meals we cooked at night stuffed bell peppers with wild mushrooms inside more than the food we shared, it was joy and care such a good time within a week I lost that same friend she grew tragically withdrawn and that's how that story ends it's so rare for me to find people with whom I connect with and it's hard to keep on trying when I see how it ends and so I'm left to wonder what it is about me that the people I am drawn to the most are so quick for forget about me if there's some way I could grow well then please tell me there's a closeness that I need that keeps escaping me when she left she didn't even say goodbye I'll never hear from her ever again it's just a memory that's all that's left with me I never hear from most of my old friends from before I moved from the place where we spent our days working on a band riding bikes, cooking meals, going to the beach, and watching each other dream but I never dreamed that we'd drift apart are we just like leaves blowing in the wind I never thought we'd be losing touch just as soon as I was out of sight what's it mean to be a friend? was it more than just convenience? what do I need in a friend? was it more than just being there? what do I want? Feeling like there's someone who'll cheer me up when I can't see how beautiful life can be Feeling like somebody appreciates me for who I am as much as I do them Feeling like there's someone who cares for me and wants to help me become who I want to be

I can't shake how I feel alone I could take a walk but I sit at home I've got photographs of outside I'm working late by electric light Taking steps to protect our own Knowing more than we've ever known Can't remember there was ever anything more But when the sun that shines won't fall on us anymore I won't know what to believe if it's been done or if I've just been dreaming When the light that shines from my window over to yours is taken mid-flight there's no leaving this god machine We built it up so we wouldn't die So we could know what's on the other side Spinning round in a grassy field Smashing things we've never seen or felt Taking steps to protect our own Knowing more than we've ever known Can't remember there was ever anything else But when the stars above come crashing down on the shore I won't know what to believe if it's been done or if I've just been dreaming When the light that shines from my window over to yours is taken mid-flight there's no leaving the L.H.C.

Forget about girls, they'll make you sad Forget about boys, they'll fill your head with their insecurity, for get all them especially this boy Forget everything I have said Forget all I ever said Forget about love, it's a trap They'll chain you up so that you can't look back at what you could have been had you not given in, had I not professed Forget everything I have said Forget all I ever said

about

This eclectic album consists mostly of songs I wrote and recorded in my apartment in Reykjavik, Iceland the winter and spring of 2010. Layers and layers of shakers, claps, tambourines, and sleigh bells, double-tracked vocals, arpeggiated synths. Toy piano and xylophone breakdowns. A few diminished chords thrown in for good measure.
